Otti Planerer, actress and narrator
Otti Planerer studied at the college of theatre in Leipzig. For
17 years she has been an actress on stages of the town Gera after
her first engagement in Döbeln from 1959 till 1961. She has
played the title roles in the plays "Beautiful Helena"
and "Medea" , and she has been the Mrs. John in "The
rats" and the Elizabeth in "Marie Stuart".
In 1970 Otti Planerer got the prize of art of the GDR for magnificent
piece of acting. Since 1978 she has continued her activities as
a freelance artist. She has been in television and has played
in the series "Polizeiruf 110", "Tierparkgeschichten",
"Herz mit Robe", "Sterne des Südens"
and "Stadtklinik".
In 1961 Otti Planerer already began to work at synchronizations
of films at the state studios in Weimar and in Leipzig. That work
she has continued in Berlin since 1978.
Since 1981 she has worked as a educationalist. So she has been
a speech trainer at mastery courses in Klagenfurt. For some years
she has made readings, for example texts by Thomas Mann and Erwin
Strittmatter.
